Health and Wellness

GlenWood Park Retirement Village is proud to have an expert team of licensed professionals on our staff and a highly qualified group of consultants who visit our residents regularly. Licensed nurses are on duty at GlenWood 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to care for residents in independent living, assisted living and health care. Limited nursing services are provided in independent living, and in assisted living residents receive help with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting and medication administration. GlenWood’s health care unit includes both nursing home and skilled services for those who need observation or continuous medical nursing care. Residents in all levels of care who choose our consultants as their doctors can schedule appointments with them in GlenWood’s main building. If appointments outside the village are necessary, transportation is provided for residents in independent and assisted living and arranged through local rescue squads for residents in health care.

CareTracker

CareTracker allows assessments and observations of residents to be recorded on wall-mounted touch screen devices called kiosks. Simple visual icons on the screen enable staff to quickly and accurately record a full range of information compiled about residents throughout each shift, including such details as the condition of their skin, how much was eaten during meals and snacks, their weights and vital signs, their moods and behaviors, and participation in therapies.

The CareTracker system is both a timesaving and quality assurance tool for the nursing staff, according to Betty Farley, GlenWood’s senior vice president. The improved accuracy helps create a much better picture of each resident through data that can be displayed with the push of a button, bringing GlenWood closer to its goal of providing quality service every day.
